In the center of the island there is a massive plateau 2000 metres high; from there starts the majestic peak of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Teide\">Teide<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">,with its 3718 metres above sea level; this is the third highest volcano in the world and the highest mountain in Spain.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row full_width=&#8221;stretch_row_content_no_spaces&#8221;][vc_column][vc_single_image image=&#8221;3097&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">What happens is basically that the high mountains stop clouds in the northern side of the island; furthermore they also act as physical barrier against the winds, protecting the south-west; for this reason this area enjoys better weather and sea conditions; as a matter of fact the big majority of tourist <a href=\"https:\/\/tenerife-trips.com\/tenerife-boat-trips\/\">boat trips<\/a> take place in the south; they depart mainly from the harbour of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/place\/Puerto+Col%C3%B3n\/@28.0789928,-16.7359737,15z\/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0xd62345524f768247!8m2!3d28.0789928!4d-16.7359737\">Puerto Colon<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">You should definitely consider this Tenerife weather differences when planning a holiday on the island; I have met many people who decided to book an accomodation in the north to save money and regret they did when they found out how the weather was there.<\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Anyone going on vacation wants to see a bit of sunlight, so I strongly recommend you to come to the south or west; in my experience the best area to stay is between Los Cristianos and Los Gigantes<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">; <span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">t<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">he west coast has a very good weather and offers spectacular sunsets.
